創作舞劇「首里」は2019年の火災で突然焼失した首里城の復興を願って企画されたもので、日本の伝統芸能である「能」と沖縄の伝統芸能「組踊」がコラボレーションした舞台となっています。2021年に東京で初演されていますが今回は能楽と組踊をもっとコラボさせた内容にブラッシュアップし東京と沖縄の2カ所で開催です。
The original dance drama Shuri was conceived with the hope of restoring Shurijo Castle, which was tragically lost in a fire in 2019. This performance is a collaboration between Noh, one of Japan’s traditional performing arts, and Kumiodori, a traditional art form from Okinawa. Although it premiered in Tokyo in 2021, this time the production has been refined to further integrate Noh and Kumiodori, and will be performed in both Tokyo and Okinawa. In Tokyo, we are grateful to once again have the opportunity to perform at the familiar Cerulean Tower Noh Theatre.

　念願のサグラダファミリアでの公演です。ここまでの道のりは楽ではなかったですが、大成功のうちに幕を終えました。サポーターの皆さん、現地のボランティアの皆さん、そしてチームNOSARUの皆さん、本当にありがとうございました！
At long last, we have fulfilled our dream of performing at the Sagrada Família. The journey to this point was not easy, but the performance ended in great success. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our supporters, the local volunteers, and the entire Team NOSARU. Thank you so much!
The performance at the Sagrada Família Crypt was graced by the presence of the Bishop, the Consul General of Japan, and the Consul General of China.

コペンハーゲンの教会がコンサート用に用いられており、非常に豊かで自然な響きがしました。デンマークのお客様にも楽しんでいただけたようで大変よかったです。サポートしてくださった現地ボランティアの皆様ありがとうございました。

The concert was held in a church in Copenhagen, which provided a wonderfully rich and natural resonance. It was a pleasure to see that our Danish audience seemed to thoroughly enjoy the performance. A heartfelt thank you to the local volunteers who supported us.

The Besançon-Montfaucon Music Festival, now in its 18th year, features performances and workshops throughout the city, including venues such as churches, theaters, outdoor parks, art museums, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Citadel, and music schools.

The theme for 2023 is “Free Expression in Music and a Prayer for Peace.”

　セルリアンタワーで行った「雨ニモマケズ」公演ですが、今回はホールの関係で和太鼓を生で使えない代わりに、Roland製の電子太鼓Taiko-1を試用させていただきました。なかなかはじめは奏者も苦戦する場面ありますが、色々な可能性を秘めている楽器で、海外でも人気だそうです。PAさんたちの努力もあっていい形の音になったと思います。

For the Ame ni mo Makezu performance held at Cerulean Tower, we are unable to use live traditional Japanese drums due to venue constraints. Instead, we are utilizing Roland’s electronic taiko drums as a trial, doubling as a promotional effort. While the performers faced some challenges, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the PA team, we believe we have achieved a sound that works beautifully for the performance.

Experience the program of our upcoming Europe Tour with this special preview performance in Japan. Enjoy an engaging concert featuring the world premiere of a new work, along with an insightful talk session.

In the first half, we will present solo and ensemble pieces for traditional Japanese instruments, as well as dance performances. The second half will feature the world premiere of Makito Shibuya’s new composition, KAN-TORUS. This groundbreaking work is a “visual music piece” that creates a majestic world by combining Noh, soprano vocals, and four traditional Japanese instruments—koto, shō, shakuhachi, and biwa—each representing a different historical era. This composition is set for a re-performance during the Europe Tour.

The event will include program notes and a commentary session, making it an enriching experience for all attendees. Don’t miss this chance to witness a fusion of tradition and innovation in Japanese music and performance art.

第3回のタイトルの「笑」とは、半分はふとした思いつきでつけたテーマでもあります。この春からようやく皆様も少しづつ忙しい日常生活を取り戻しているかと思います。まだまだ世の中は先行きが不透明な状況にありますが、どんなときも「笑う」という人間に許された才能を忘れずに進んでいこうというメッセージを込めました。そういえば「能楽」は悲劇だけなく「狂言」という喜劇があることでバランスを取っていることは有名ですが、あくせくした「人」の所業はときに滑稽さと表裏一体でもある、という大事な批判的視点を教えてくれるもので、悲しみと笑いはまさに表裏一体なのかもしれません。

　とはいえ、今回は前編を通して抱腹絶倒を狙っているわけでもありません。特に音楽家の坂本龍一さんがつい先日お亡くなりになったことは大変悲しい知らせではありますが、彼の作品が奏でられることが音楽家にとっての何よりもの供養と信じ、また私たちが彼の音楽を通して流した涙や、微笑んだあの日々を思い出すことこそが最大の弔辞だと思っています。

　今回はTVやYoutubeでもお笑い芸人としてご活躍中で、東京藝術大学でも研鑽を積まれている笙奏者の「カニササレアヤコ」さんをお招きいたしました。また前回に引き続きゲストピアニストの中村直樹さんにもご出演いただきますので、バリエーション豊かなプログラムをどうぞお楽しみください。

Reflections on the Theme “Laughter”

The title “Laughter” for our third event was chosen, in part, on a whim. As we begin to regain the rhythm of our daily lives this spring, I imagine many of you are also finding yourselves gradually busier. While the world remains filled with uncertainties, the theme carries a message: no matter the circumstances, let us never forget the uniquely human gift of laughter as we move forward.

Speaking of laughter, it is well-known that Noh theatre balances its tragic plays with kyogen, a comedic counterpart that provides critical perspective on the absurdity and folly of human actions. This duality reminds us that sorrow and laughter are often two sides of the same coin. However, this event is not entirely designed to leave the audience in stitches from beginning to end.

Recently, the music world mourned the loss of Ryuichi Sakamoto, a truly inspiring artist. While this is a great sadness, I believe that performing his works is the highest tribute a musician can offer. Through his music, we remember the tears we shed and the smiles we shared in days gone by—perhaps the most fitting way to honor his memory.

For this program, we are thrilled to welcome Ayako Kanisasa, an accomplished shō performer who is also gaining recognition as a comedian on TV and YouTube, alongside her studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Additionally, Naoki Nakamura, our guest pianist from the previous event, will once again join us to bring variety and richness to the program. We hope you enjoy this multifaceted performance.

第2回のタイトルの「夢」とは、そもそも能における世阿弥の提唱した夢幻能、諸行無常の精神とも結びついている私たちの文化のアイデンティのひとつを指します。また私たちのヨーロッパツアーそのものも大きな「夢」であるという、複数の意味をかけております。決して夢物語で終わることなく、しっかりとツアーを実現してきます、という決意表明ともいえます。メンバーは海外在住勢も含めて10名弱おりますが、今回はフランス在住でこのために帰国いただいた、箏奏者の日原さん、また卓越した笙奏者であり作曲家である真鍋さんのお二人のメンバーにご出演いただき、我々「のさる」の夢のリアルを感じていただければと願っております。

The theme “Dreams” for this event draws inspiration from mugen noh (dreamlike Noh plays) as proposed by Zeami, embodying the impermanence of all things—a key aspect of our cultural identity. Additionally, the theme resonates with our aspirations for the upcoming Europe Tour, a dream that we are determined to turn into reality. It represents not just an abstract ideal, but a firm commitment to realizing this ambitious project.

Our ensemble, consisting of nearly ten members, includes artists based overseas. For this performance, we are honored to feature two remarkable members: Ms. Hihara, a koto player returning from France for this occasion, and Mr. Manabe, an accomplished shō performer and composer. Together, they will bring to life the tangible reality of NOSARU’s collective dream.

We are also delighted to welcome guest pianist Mr. Naoki Nakamura, whose exceptional talent will add further depth and variety to the program.

We hope you will enjoy the concert and continue to support NOSARU as we pursue our dream of cultural exchange through music. Please note that all proceeds from this performance will be used as preparatory funding for our Europe Tour.

「のさる」第1回目のコンサートを記念して「祝」とタイトル付けましたが、文字通り結成されて間もない私たちにとって、今回が初めてのコンサートとなります。メンバーは海外在住勢も含めて10名弱おりますが、リーダーの津村禮次郎氏を中心にこれまでの様々なご縁があって、このように一同に会することができました。

　本日はまず私たちのことを知っていただき、応援してもらいたい！という思いでいっぱいです。そしてこの夏8月の「ヨーロッパ世界遺産ツアー」に向けて、ぜひ「のさる」を応援いただきたいと考えております。このコンサート収益は夏のツアーのための準備資金として活用させていただきます。

To commemorate the first NOSARU TEAM concert, we chose the theme “Celebration.” As the name suggests, this marks the very first performance for us, a newly formed group.Our ensemble consists of nearly ten members, including those based overseas. Thanks to various meaningful connections, we have been able to come together under the leadership of Reijiro Tsumura.Today, our primary goal is for you to get to know us and to gain your support! We are also looking ahead to our Europe World Heritage Tour scheduled for this August. Proceeds from today’s concert will be used as preparatory funding for this significant project.
We hope NOSARU will continue to grow into a sustainable team that can thrive both in Japan and abroad. We deeply appreciate your support and cooperation as we embark on this journey together.
